As a performer and career musician, Rod Sebastian seamlessly inhabits three distinct musical identities depending on the gig. He spent the first decade of his career as a gritty roadhouse rocker and lead guitarist for several rootsy rock-and-roll bands that released multiple original albums. During this era, Sebastian cut his teeth in neighborhood joints, honky-tonks, and legendary showcase venues—including The Ritz and China Club in New York City, Hammerjacks and The 8x10 in Baltimore, and The Roxy and Bayou in Washington, D.C. Along the way, he shared the stage with national acts like The Romantics, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Dukes, Child’s Play, Tom Principato, The Stray Cats, Aimee Mann and several shows with Tommy Conwell & the Young Rumblers!

Driven by a deeper creative curiosity, Rod morphed into a solo singer-songwriter. After releasing several independent albums, he packed up for Austin, Texas, immersing himself in the city's modern folk scene. By sharing his songs at several prestigious singer-songwriter showcases, and hanging out with the most generous masters of the community, Sebastian truly learned to appreciate the craft of storytelling through song.

Ultimately, Sebastian chose to bring that wealth of experience back to the Baltimore-Washington-Annapolis region, dedicating himself to becoming one of the area's premier full-time acoustic entertainers. That was nearly three decades ago, sparking a legendary run where he crushed a staggering 295 shows in one year during his peak.

Today, the show goes on. Sebastian is still moving full steam ahead, fronting several bands, captivating crowds as a solo acoustic artist, and working as a sought-after freelance guitarist and vocalist for local acts. He is, in every sense of the word, a true musical journeyman.
